Compumatica secure networks takes over e-mail gateway technology from Utimaco Safeware AG
Compumatica secure networks based in Aachen and Uden took over the e-mail gateway from Utimaco Safeware at October 1st 2009.
Utimaco still distributes and supports the e-mail gateway to their distributors, resellers and end customers under its own name SafeGuard MailGateway. Compumatica and Utimaco concluded a reseller contract with each other. By means of this collaboration Utimaco and Compumatica emphasize the more and more important topic of secure transmission of official documents within business connections.
The continuity of the end customers is furthermore guaranteed. The Utimaco Support Center remains responsible for the First and Second Level Support. Compumatica will support Utimaco in giving Third Level Support. Utimaco and Compumatica will closely work together which proves to be very simple since both companies are based in the same building in Aachen.
Compumatica guarantees to all customers and partners the service they are used to as well as the further development of this technology. The product will receive the name CompuMail Gateway from Compumatica. The development team has already completely been integrated by Compumatica. The Third Level Support is covered by the producer. Compumatica regards the e-mail gateway as important extension of its product portfolio and will in the short term – in close collaboration with the customers and the business partners – bring the roadmap for further development into agreement. The technology underlying the product has proven its value within the established high security firewall CompuWall by Compumatica for many years.
CompuMail Gateway integrates the encryption and decryption processes as well as the electronic signature and verification at central place in the enterprise. The solution is transparent for the sender and automatically realizes the internal policies. Sender and receiver may communicate as usual without worrying about the confidentiality. For the encryption and decryption as well as the digital signature the established standards S/MIME and OpenPGP are used. The integration of external communication partners is guaranteed by the products PDFMail and PrivateCrypto.
